I am currently a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and affiliated with the Dynamics and Control research group. Prior joining to TU/e, I was a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen, Germany (Oct. 2017 – Nov.2019) and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA (Aug. 2016 – Oct. 2017). I received my PhD degree in 2016 from the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where I was a member of the KodLab and GRASP labs.
My current research focuses on the algorithmic foundations of robotics. My research goal at TU/e is to integrate perception, control and learning in the design of provably correct safe adaptive motion planning algorithms for robots operating around people. In addition to my research on safe autonomous mobility, I also conduct research on estimation and control in mobile sensor networks for active information gathering. Broadly, my research interests include robotics, motion planning, sensor networks, control theory, dynamical systems, optimization, machine learning and machine perception.
